2016 International Tea Culture Exchange Exhibition holds its grand opening today (19th) at Chiayi garlic sugar factory. Heita Kawakatsu, current governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, led a delegation to the meeting. The Magistrate of Chiayi County, Chang Hwa-kuan welcomed the guests from different countries with a performance that combined dance and tea painting. And the tea wares were introduced by tea specialist one by one.
Chang Hwa-kuan pointed out that it was the first time for Chiayi to host 2016 International Tea Culture Exchange Exhibition. She is particular please to invite the governor and the masters from different tea group of the “Japanese Tea City” – Shizuoka Prefecture. She will promote the cooperation with Shizuoka Prefecture, establishing the Association of the friend of Camellia Cultural Industry to deepen the culture exchanges between Taiwan and Japan and hoping Chiayi can become the Tea City of Taiwan.
The 2016 International Tea Culture Exchange Exhibition hosted in Chiayi County started from March 19th (Saturday) to March 28th. The opening ceremony was held today. The Magistrate of Chiayi County, Chang Hwa-kuan performed an elegant dance in person and hand painted the impression of Tea County as the opening performance. Chang Hwa-kuan invited everyone to come to Chiayi “Taste the Chiayi tea, gain the friendship.
Chang Hwa-kuan said, she will continue her efforts to promote the cooperation with Shizuoka Prefecture, establishing the Association of the friend of Camellia Cultural Industry.
Shizuoka Prefecture, Heita Kawakatsu gave speech on the ceremony. He expressed his condolences to the victims in Tainan. Also, he said, Shizuoka Prefecture will hold the World Tea Expo every three years. The World Tea Expo happens to be held this year in May and October and it will welcome Chiayi to go and exchange experience. He spoke highly of the pretty mountains and forests and a fairy-like magistrate Chang Hwa-kua, which led the audience burst into applause.
The 2016 International Tea Culture Exchange Exhibition featured five main themes: gathered tea cultural performance from many countries, world tea conference, international famous tea wares showcase, tea marketing exhibition and tea traveling: “Tea Arts”, “Friendship of tea”, “Tea Wares”, “Tea Marketing Exhibition” and “Tea Traveling”. In addition to the performance of the tea specialists invited from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and other regions, tea snacks, tea dinner, tea competition, and 125 pieces of famous tea wares from 15 countries are showcased at the scene.
