Qigong Therapy – Simple Holistic Therapy for the Body

Modern medicine is waking up to the benefits of slow, gentle therapy, and it is becoming less reliant on dangerous, addictive and expensive drugs. This has a lot to do with the rise of alternative healing practices, which spread from the east and are now performed all over the world. Qigong is a perfect example of this. This practice, which is at its best in the form of Spring Forest Qigong Centre, can help you to heal using simple, easy-to-follow methods that have no side effects and are easy on your body.

What’s more, in most cases these methods are not slow, and if you perform them right then you can speed up your therapy and get back to normal in no time at all.

Simple Healing Courses

There are many courses at the Spring Forest Qigong Centre, all of which you can take as home study courses. These include large courses that are graded between level 1 and level 5 and aim to teach you all you need to become a Qigong master by the time you make it to the end. If simple healing is your goal though then there are smaller, simpler courses that are just as beneficial, but get to the heart of the problem quicker.

  • Qi-ssage Healing: This course combines massage with Qigong, focusing on key energy points in the body. When these become blocked, the body presents with many different symptoms, from pains to disease. If you begin with the symptom and then locate the correct technique, then you can heal yourself. That’s what this course will help with. It is a level 1 course that includes a number of different media elements, including a CD and DVD.
  • Head to Toe Bodys Repair Manual: There are 76 chapters in this comprehensive manual, many of which teach you self-healing techniques that work in a similar way to the Qi-ssage Healing techniques mentioned above. As well as techniques that focus on mental and physical health, there are also techniques to use on newborn babies and techniques that pregnant women can use to improve their health and the health of their unborn baby.
  • Small Universe: This is a meditation that all beginner students should learn. That’s why it is included on the SFQ Fundamentals course, which is also listed under the name “Qigong for Health”. Small Universe teaches you how to breathe in healing energy and then direct this energy around your body, which is something that Master Lin, who provides the narration for this meditation, will help you with.
  • The Healing Connection: A great addition to your therapy, The Healing Connection is a teleseminar. This is basically a live phone call, one that is attended by a number of other students and is led by Master Lin. The best part of this call is the Q&A that lets you put any questions you have directly to Master Lin.

What Modern Medicine Has to Say

The rise of Qigong and other practices outside of China has forced modern medicine to pay attention and many studies have been performed on them. Many Qigong schools are distrusting of modern medicine, and not without reason, so they don’t allow such studies to be conducted. But one school, the Spring Forest Qigong Centre, opened its doors to many medical studies and the results were incredibly positive.

One of the biggest studies was undertaken by the Mayo Clinic, a huge and massively respected medical research clinic in the United States. They ran tests on claims made by the SFQ which suggested that their courses could be used to cure all kinds of pain. They came to a very positive conclusion, determining that these courses could do what they claimed. This is what they had to say:

“Subjects with chronic pain who received external qigong experienced reduction in pain intensity following each qigong treatment. This is especially impressive given the long duration of pain (>5 years) in the most of the participants

An even bigger study was performed on the mental health benefits of Spring Forest Qigong, with the research being conducted by a respected psychologist on 39 subjects. Again, the conclusions were very positive and the following was taken from the conclusion of the report:

The results were most successful in that the subjects reported significant and substantial relief of symptoms connected with DSM-IV guidelines and there were no reported negative side effects of the treatment. The researcher and all three practitioners noted that physical presentation and appearance of the group was markedly different and improved at the end of the treatment period than when they first presented two months earlier.
