Handcrafted Zisha teapot made from authentic Hongni clay by a Yixing master. Rounded design, easy pouring, and ideal for 1–2 people, this traditional 145ml teapot can be used with any type of tea.

Also known as “red clay”, Zisha is actually yellow or brown in its natural state. It’s the firing process that gives the clay its unique color. This process is also where the clay gets its strengths. It’s rich in minerals and offers tea masters a high degree of plasticity while remaining strong and stable after firing.

Zisha clay is porous and breathable, but it’s also exceptional at retaining heat. Our Handcrafted Round Zisha Clay Teapot will keep your tea at the optimal temperature for longer. Furthermore, those open pores soak up a little of every brew that you make.

The more you use it, the more of those compounds remain, imparting unique flavors into every brew. Essentially, it’s a seasoning process for tea, and the unique composition of different teas means the teapot gradually reflects its owner’s preferences, while also developing a distinctive patina pattern.

Zisha also rounds off some of the sharper flavors of tea, especially younger Puerh teas. So, you may notice a difference with your very first brew, and over time, those differences will be more pronounced.
