Description
This aged Shuixian Oolong is a rare Oolong Tea from the 1980s. It has been resting and gradually maturing in dry storage for over 40 years, giving it ample time to develop more complex and well-rounded flavors.
Oolong, unlike Puerh, doesn’t rely on fermentation. The aging process is not as dynamic. Instead, the tea leaves undergo an intense oxidation process. Oxygen exposure softens the tea’s bitter compounds and allows fruitier and more fragrant notes to shine through.
Tea masters also periodically roast the tea to remove excess moisture drawn from the environment.
