Zini clay hails from Jiangsu, where tea masters have been crafting premium teaware from this clay for several centuries. It’s a mineral-rich clay that transforms after firing, creating a solid and stable structure that offers excellent heat retention. As a result, it is ideal for tea.

What’s more, the highly porous nature of this clay means the Yixing Zisha Teapot absorbs some of the aromatic oils of the tea. Simply put, every brew you make leaves a little behind, essentially seasoning the teapot.

Over time, the teapot will impart those flavors into the tea. Subsequently, may notice fuller and more complex flavors, ones you simply can’t detect in other teaware. The unique heat retention properties, combined with the high mineral content, also round off the tea. It softens some of the more astringent notes without muting other aromas and flavors.

So, while it improves with age, it also delivers an immediate impact from that very first brew.
