Description
Golden Flower Dark Tea gets its name from Eurotium cristatum, a type of beneficial fungus that plays an important role in the dark tea fermentation process. It leaves yellow spores in premium tea bricks, and gives the tea soup a distinctive golden hue.
Our selection has been aging in dry storage since 1990. During its 35+ year history, the tea undergoes significant chemical changes. Microbes soften bitter notes. Oxygen exposure transforms catechins. It becomes less bitter and more complex, delivering notes of wood, spice, dried fruits, and earth, with an underlying sweetness.
