Description

This premium Raw Puerh tea originates from Yunnan’s ancient tea trees. At over 1,000 years old, they are among the region’s oldest tea trees.

These mineral-rich trees produce tea with potent Qi. Our tea master carefully selects the leaves to deliver a Puerh flavor that’s smooth and slightly sweet, with a gentle, warming Qi. The aging process removes many of the bitter flavors common in young teas, leaving sweet, fruity, and warming flavors.

Available in 25-gram loose leaf portions or as a full 357-gram cake, our 2002 Aged Raw Puerh is perfect for tea enthusiasts seeking a timeless brew with rich history and authentic flavor.

Older tea trees develop strong root systems. They dig deep into the ground and build a complex system that draws more nutrients from the soil.

These nutrients feed the tree and encourage growth. But they also leave a higher concentration of minerals in the leaves. The aging process mutes some of the stronger mineral notes, but imparts a delicate minerality that further enhances the complex flavor profile.

The raw fermentation process also contributes greatly to the flavor. It’s a slow and natural aging process controlled by skilled tea masters.
