Description

This premium Liubao Heicha has been aged for over 40 years, delivering exceptional depth and complexity. Available in loose leaf or full basket form, this tea embodies the pinnacle of aged Heicha quality.

The name roughly translates to “Six Forts”, which refers to the production area. It uses a medium-to-large leaf varietal and undergoes a wet-piling process before tea masters press it into bricks for storage.

This storage process is when the Liu Bao Tea develops its distinctive flavors. Oxidation continues, and microbial fermentation begins to transform the tea leaves. It softens the bitter flavors common in younger tea and develops a complex earthy sweetness that builds with each passing year.

Our Liu Bao Tea has been aging for more than 4 decades, giving it a complex flavor profile, with notes of spice, betel nut, pine, and brown sugar.
