Description
Our 2008 Liu An Tea is an exceptional Heicha for dark tea enthusiasts. It’s available in loose leaf form, or as a full basket.
After withering, drying, and pan-frying, tea masters sort and sift through Liu An Tea leaves to select the highest grade leaves. Tea masters then fire the leaves at high temperatures before leaving them outside overnight, where it’s believed they absorb the “white dew”.
Finally, they pack the leaves into baskets lined with bamboo, strap the baskets together, and then fire them one last time. Only after these laborious steps is the tea ready for aging.
Most Liu An Tea ages in dry storage for at least three years before being sold. However, our Liu An Tea has been aging since 2008, giving the leaves more time to shed their bitter flavors and develop a complex taste profile.
