The distinctive pattern forms as a result of the cup’s glaze and the high firing temperature.
The glaze consists of feldspar, iron oxide, and limestone, all of which combine to create vivid colors. Everything from the heat of the kiln to the cup’s position within it can impact the final pattern. As a result, no two cups are exactly the same. Every Tenmoku you buy will have slight variations that make it completely unique.
