Description
This Tenmoku tea cup, also known as Jian Zhan, is handmade and fired at high temperatures. The purple glaze makes this a great decorative piece, as well as an excellent traditional cup for drinking tea.
Typically, Tenmoku cups feature deep brown and black colors. However, the artisans can use various techniques to achieve unique colors and patterns. These include changing the kiln firing atmosphere and adding certain minerals to the glaze.
As with all Tenmoku pieces, the glaze and firing temperatures form unique and unpredictable patterns, ensuring that no two Tenmoku cups are exactly the same.
