Description
Baozhong is a famous Taiwanese Oolong tea. It’s lightly oxidized and often enjoyed fresh, but under the right conditions, and with a carefully managed aging process, it develops into a rare and complex tea.
Our Baozhong has been aging for over 40 years under optimal conditions. Throughout that time, the tea has steadily oxidized and transformed. The bitter flavors mellow, and more complex notes come through.
The tea is significantly richer and more complex than its younger counterparts. The aging process plays a big role in this, but the re-roasting also transforms the tea. Tea masters re-roast this Oolong to remove moisture that builds up from the atmosphere. It keeps the tea leaves dry and imparts a little more intensity with each roasting.
