Older tea trees have stronger root systems than the average plantation shrub. They grow deep into the ground and draw more minerals from the soil. Not only do those nutrients feed the tree and ensure a bumper crop of tea leaves, but they also impart those mineral flavors into the tea.
The leaves are also not as sharp and bitter in older tea trees. Furthermore, by aging the tea slowly over two decades, our 2006 Aged Raw Puerh Tea transforms what bitter flavors remain into a smooth and mellow drink. It’s sweet and warming, but also earthy and raw.

Wonderful flavor, I prefer mine steeped lightly, but even a little stronger is still nice.
