Description

White Peony Tea, also known as Bai Mu Dan (白牡丹), is a premium white tea that hails from China’s Fujian and Yunnan regions.

Unlike typical White Peony Tea, this selection undergoes a labor-intensive hand-rolling process instead of machine plucking. This enhances sweetness and depth of flavor. We source this Bai Mu Dan from the largest and finest buds taken from Puerh tea trees.

Our resident tea master guides this exceptional process, one that is rarely seen in white tea production.

White Peony Tea comes from a tea plant cultivar that features larger leaves, giving them the appearance of White Peony petals. To produce our Gourmet White Peony Tea, farmers select the finest young buds in early spring. They then wither and dry these buds in the sun, and as far as the processing goes, that’s it.

However, our Gourmet White Peony Tea undergoes a little aging to fully develop those flavors while giving the tea more depth.

Unlike green tea, oolong tea, and black tea, white tea undergoes minimal processing. As a result, the leaves retain the natural sweet and delicate flavors of the tea. It also makes for a lightly caffeinated drink, one that you can enjoy at any time of the day.

The tea has a unique snowy-leaf appearance, and once brewed, it produces a golden liquid filled with fresh, floral, and fruity aromas.
