Handmade Yixing Zisha teapot in Zhuni dark red clay by a Chinese pottery master. Ideal for beginners or intermediates brewing Puerh or dark teas. It features an easy pour design and the striking red coloration common to traditional Zhuni clay.

Although Zhuni clay produces distinctive red teaware, giving it the name “Red Clay” or “Dark Red Clay”, it’s actually yellow and chalky in its natural state. However, the clay has a high iron content, along with numerous other minerals. During the firing process, it transforms into the color you see in this Yixing Zisha Teapot.

The teapot holds 170ml of your favorite tea, enough for 1 to 3 people, depending on the serving size. Although compact, this is actually larger than many Zhuni teapots. Artisans typically limit the size of these traditional pieces, as the clay shrinks by up to 25% during the firing process. What’s more, larger pieces are more prone to splitting.
