Oriental Beauty is one of the few bug bitten teas in the world next to Shanlinxi Black Tea from Taiwan. It grows primarily near Hsinchu in central Taiwan. Production in recent years has moved further into Shanlinxi and surrounding areas. This tea is known for having some of the best Cha Qi “Tea Qi” amongst Taiwanese teas. This tea is highly oxidized, yet not roasted. The white portions of the tea seen derive from the tea leave tips. It is also referred to as “white tip Oolong.”
