To produce premium Osmanthus Black Tea, tea masters first harvest the finest tea leaves from Taiwan’s high mountain areas. The unique terroir, colder climate, and misty conditions force the tea plants to grow slowly. As a result, they produce fewer bitter compounds common in tea and release more amino acids and complex carbohydrates.

After withering, rolling, oxidizing, and drying the black tea leaves, the tea masters then look to the Autumn Osmanthus harvest. They pluck the flowers just as they are about to bloom, capturing them at their most fragrant.

Next, the tea masters layer the Osmanthus and the Black Tea so that the latter absorbs aromatic oils from the former. They repeat this process multiple times, creating a richer and more fragrant tea with each successive layering.

A final firing removes any moisture left by the flower petals.
