The Wuyi Mountains produce some of the world’s best teas due to the unique climate and elevation, as well as the nutrient-dense red clay soil that feeds the region’s tea plants.
The climate and elevation is perfect for tea, but the steep mountains also play their part. They diffuse the sunlight and mean the tea plants don’t produce as many sharp and bitter compounds.
The medium caffeine levels mean this tea is best enjoyed in the morning or early afternoon, with that moderate caffeine boost, combined with the smoky and robust flavors, providing a pick-me-up.
