Description
Tie Luo Han, which translates to “Iron Monk” in English, is a dark roasted oolong from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China. It ranks as the third most popular rock tea in the country’s gourmet Oolong tea capital, and provides flavors of dark chocolate, dried fruits, stone fruits, and wood.
Local farmers regard this Oolong as the most esteemed option due to the intensely green leaves and full-bodied flavors. To produce Tie Luo Han, farmers first hand-pick the finest leaves. They then carefully wither the leaves in the sun, both to dry them out and to start the oxidation process.
Farmers then sort the leaves, remove the unwanted stems, and then roast them over charcoal. The roasting process takes several weeks and creates a rich, flavorful profile. They then store the tea and ship it to gourmet tea retailers like Qiful Life.
