The process of creating Jasmine Oolong begins with a high-grade, partially oxidized Oolong, which basically serves as the base of the tea. Our tea master then oversees the harvest of jasmine flowers, and the two are married together.
Artisans spread out a layer of dried Oolong flowers and then cover them with fresh Jasmine petals. They repeat this process to create a large pile with alternating Oolong and Jasmine. The Jasmine petals release fragrant oils that soak into the Oolong tea, and significantly alter the tea’s flavor.
After a day or so, the jasmine flowers wilt, and the artisans separate them from the Oolong. They bake the Oolong to remove any moisture left over by the Jasmine flowers (without removing the floral aromas), and then repeat the whole process to achieve the desired potency.
Finally, the tea is ready, offering a distinctive Jasmine scent and intense floral notes. However, this meticulous process is 100% natural and doesn’t rely on a blend of Jasmine flowers in the final product.
This tea is currently offered in loose leaf options, both as 5-gram samples and 25-gram bags.
