Zisha is Yixing, China’s revered teapot clay. It is known for being porous, allowing dark tea and Puerh tea to breathe more effectively. These these teapots absorb the flavors and aromas of the tea over time. Much like a fine dark tea brick, the teapots improve with age. So, the more that you use them, the deeper ingrained those flavors become, and the richer your tea becomes as a result. For this reason, it’s best to dedicate a teapot to a specific type of tea. In this way, your delicate white and green teas are influenced by the strong flavors left over by previous brews of dark tea and black tea.

All selections on this page are handmade from Zisha pottery masters in Yixing, China. They use clay such as Hong Ni, Duan Ni, Zi Ni, and Da Hong Pao. By nature, they are very limited. We work closely with pottery masters to ensure we always have a ready supply available. However, the rarer pots are only available in extremely limited quantities.
