Tea Cakes

We source our cakes from local farmers in Asia who hand-pick the tea and use traditional pressing methods to preserve the quality and taste of the tea.Our collection includes traditional 357g sizes for many aged tea selections and 100g sizes for newer products. Tea cake varieties include Raw and Ripe Puerh, Black Tea, and occasionally White Tea. Each option is available in full form or as 25g loose leaf sampler options.

All products are dry-stored, maintained in a cool environment, single-origin, and ethically sourced to ensure the highest quality.

Producers compress premium tea like Puerh into tea cakes to aid with the aging process. After compressing the tea, they move it to carefully managed storage facilities. Over the course of many months and even years, the tea slowly matures as a result of microbial fermentation. The longer it ages, the more complex it becomes, with sharper and more astringent flavors transforming into sweet, woody notes.

Generally, tea cakes are reserved for the highest quality tea. These cakes typically include whole leaves, and the best varieties have been aging for several decades.
