Low Acid Tea

Low Acid Teas are increasingly important to tea drinkers with sensitivity to acidy, such as acid reflex. Gourmet Quality and Single Origin teas, especially hand-plucked from pollution-free, high-mountain regions, are important factors within this category. Clean environments and abundant water sources contribute to higher alkalinity and improved pH levels.

Recommended products consist primarily of non-fermented and lightly oxidized teas, such as light Oolongs or Green Teas. For some, Puerh and Dark Tea (Heicha) may be too harsh on the stomach due to fermentation. Black Tea has moderate acidity, but small-leaf varieties typically have lower levels.
